Account Services and General Information

Due Date

All bills are due on the 28th of each month. All payments sent through the mail must be received on or before the 28th. If an account is not paid in full on or before this date, a penalty charge will be added to the next month's bill. If the 28th falls on a weekend or holiday, the last business day prior to the 28th should be considered the due date.

Payment Arrangements


When are the bills sent out?

The billing statements are sent out the first part of every month. If you have not received a statement by the 10th of the month, call the office. We will be glad to give you the amount or send a new billing statement.


Budget Billing

If your electric usage varies from month to month or season to season, budget billing may be for you. This program allows you to pay approximately the same amount each month. The amount is calculated by averaging your previous year's usage and rounding to the nearest $10.00. You must have service with us for one year to be eligible for this program.


Life Support

If you or someone in your home depends on life support equipment prescribed by a doctor, contact our office to get the necessary form. When an outage occurs, New Enterprise REC will make every effort to restore power as quickly as possible. Be sure to have emergency back-ups in case of extended outages.


Does the cooperative read my meter?

No, residential rate accounts are required to read their meter each month. The meter reading can be sent to New Enterprise REC a number of ways:

  • Calling our automatic attendant day or night at our business number
    (814) 766-3221 or 1 800 270-3177
  • Submitting the reading through online bill
  • Writing the reading on your return portion of the billing statement
  • Faxing the reading to (814) 766-3319

All regular meter readings need to be in our office by the 28th of each month. If a reading isn't turned in, the usage will be estimated. We will estimate the reading for two consecutive months. If no readings are received for three consecutive months, we will send an employee to read the meter. If you are 90 days or a third billing cycle past due in submitting readings, you may be subject to a $25.00 meter reading fee ,if a reading is not received approximately 1 week prior to the 28th of the third month or billing cycle.
